We have just returned from a 7 day cruise to the Mexician Riviera. I found the ship to be much larger, than the fantasy class ships, Paradise and Elation, we cruised before, but the decor was much the same. I enjoyed the rock climbing wall, and the rap around promenade deck for walking. Carnival still offers 3 and 4 day cruises,on the Paradise and Elation, out of Long Beach and San Diego to Santa Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico, but both ship are the same, and they are not as beautiful as the Monarch..
